Cingular to release a Wizard for $300?
The Miami-based Mobile Gadget News has reported that an anonymous source at Cingular is confirming a mid-to-late November release date for a Wizard series device, beating T-Mobile USA to the punch with their branded "Vario" Wizard device by a few months. The kicker is the price plan, which is quite jaw-dropping, compared to what we are paying top-dollar to get now:
- Device with no contract: $449
- Device with one-year contract: $399
- Device with two-year contract: $349
- Device with two-year contract and unlimited PDA & $39.99+ voice plan: $299
If you can wait and you feel confident in MGN's source, this would be a great thing to look forward to. If not, well, you know where to get it...

I saw this and was going to wait for Cingular to release it. BUT then I saw the announcement about the HP6515 being released Oct. 31st for a price of $450 with 2 yr. contract. That started me thinking.. That Cingular is not going to release that 2003 device and then a month later release a Windows mobile 5 device and make it less then the older one. Plus the HP is selling online for around $700.. and from Cingular for $600 no contract.. How are then going to sell the wizard for $450 no contract when it is also selling for $700 online.... We shall see, but I think that person has it all wrong...
